Getting You Started

Your Now and Beyond Profile

Here’s a step by step guide to setting up your Now and Beyond profile and uploading your sessions. For any questions or comments, please feel free to get in touch here.

Step 1: Confirm Your Account

By now you should have received an email confirming your account creation (check your junk folder if you haven’t as it may have ended up there). This means that 1. you’ve been officially approved to host sessions  🤗 and 2. we are ready for you to complete your profile and upload your session details.

Follow the link to set your password and then log in.

Step 2: Edit Your Profile

Your name will appear on the top right hand corner of the screen. Select ‘edit profile’ from the drop down list and complete the form (see photo below).

Step 3: Create Sessions

Select ‘Offer Session’ and complete the form.

Please note, you must create a  new session for each hour that you are available on the day. You must only create one session per hour. For hosts who offer a variety of sessions, these must be spread out through the day to avoid multiple schools booking you at the same time. When a school books your session you will have an opportunity to speak to them before the 3rd February 2021 so you may want to suggest the other sessions that you offer then and confirm they are happy with the one they booked.

Please also note that sessions are for school children (and their class teachers) only. We understand that this is different to our original intention but we feel that this is a better use of our hosts’ time and will ensure larger audiences thereby benefitting more people.

Step 4: When A School Books Your Session

You will receive an email confirmation when a school books one of your sessions. It will include the contact details of the school which you should use to speak to them and discuss the following:

  1. Request the virtual meeting link for your designated time on the 3rd February 2021. Each school is required to create the meeting link since every school has a different remote learning platform preference. Please do not share this link with anyone as it is only for you and the school who booked you to use.
  2. Discuss any additional needs you or the school may have. This could be that the school hosts the class in a larger space if your session involves movement or could be that the school highlights any additional needs of the children who will be attending the session.
  3. Make sure both parties are comfortable with the setup.

Step 5: Check In

Use the school’s contact information to touch base in the week leading up to the 3rd Feburary 2021 to make sure both parties have what they need and if any changes are necessary.

Step 6: Festival Day!

Log on using the remote meeting link provided to you by the school at the time of your session and enjoy!

Helpful Tips

Most of our hosts are well acquainted with online workshops and sessions but we felt that some may feel more comfortable after hearing from Beyond’s founder, Jonny Benjamin MBE as he shares some of his tips in the video below. He also wanted to say a personal thank you to you all for your generosity which you can see in the second video 🤗

A final note from us

The relationships that are established on the day are yours to nurture and build as you wish. Our hope is that these become long term relationships that provide mental health and wellbeing support and resources that the school otherwise might not have. In the instance where a school cannot afford to finance the relationship, Beyond is launching a fund that all schools taking part in Now and Beyond on Inside Out Day can apply to. We have started crowdfunding to help us achieve this.

We hope schools snap up your sessions fast because we know what’s on offer; each and every one of you is providing what can only be described as a golden opportunity for schools. In the unlikely instance that no school books your sessions, please don’t feel deflated. Every school has different needs and the beauty of this festival is that schools can create a bespoke programme that suits them and their student and teaching body. It may be that they already have a service similar to yours or perhaps the school wants to focus on other needs that someone else is able to address. However, we at Beyond would absolutely love to stay in touch and bring you with us on our journey to long term change so will be in contact as soon as we have more news.

Thank you for helping us pull off this monumental event. You are playing a truly meaningful part in the conversation about children’s mental health in the wake of the pandemic.

If you have questions at any point in your journey with us, please drop us a line at hello@nowandbeyond.org.uk. We are here to help make it as smooth as possible for you.

We’re fundraising so schools can bring in urgent, interim mental health provisions.
