NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has developed a range of free mental health planning tools and resources that are available for use. This Emotional Resilience Toolkit provides practical guidance in promoting the resilience of young people as part of an integrated health and wellbeing programme. The resource is designed to be used by school staff working with young people aged 10 and over.

Resilience is a key factor in protecting and promoting good mental health. It is the quality of being able to deal with the ups and downs of life. It is a term that can be applied to people of any age. A young person’s ability to be resilient can depend on many different circumstances – they may be able to overcome challenges in one situation but not in another.

This resource is an initiative of Glasgow CHP South Sector Youth Health Improvement team developed in partnership with The South Strategic Youth Health and Wellbeing Group.
