How does it work?
You can browse and book up to two online workshops you want for your classes and/or year groups, for free. With the incredible demand, we want to make sure that there are enough workshops for every setting. It’s first come first serve, so make sure you book quickly.
Once you have booked a workshop, you’ll receive an automated email that includes the contact details of your workshop host and advice around what to discuss including any additional needs they may need to know about, how many students will be attending and the length of the session. The workshops will be delivered virtually via a meeting link that you as the educator will need to set up, for safeguarding purposes, and send to the workshop host ahead of time.
At the time of the workshop, just click on the link at the right time.

How will the workshops be safeguarded to protect the interests of the children?
We ask the educational settings to set up and send the meeting links to the workshop providers and also ask that a member of school staff is present in each session. It will be down to the school staff member present in the session to safeguard and ensure the children feel safe and comfortable. The workshop providers are encouraged to cover the area of their expertise generally rather than specifcally so the sessions will be more on the educational/resourceful side.
-
Can I book workshops from all over the UK?
Where possible, please only book the workshops that are closest to your setting. The festival aims to establish new relationships between educational settings and mental health and wellbeing providers that can continue long term, face to face.
-
How long are the workshops?
Typically the sessions will be 20 – 40 minutes long depending on what is most suitable for your timetable. We encourage you to speak with the host beforehand and discuss any needs you both may have, as well as confirming the specific time of the session within the one hour time slot. You could even ask the workshop provider if they would be happy to run two sessions within that hour so as to maximise the number of children who can benefit.
-
There are no workshops available in my local area. Can I book one from a host further away?
We’re sorry to hear that. Where possible, we ask that you only book workshops that are closest to your setting as it would take a local provision away from another setting. We are working on increasing the number of workshop providers so please check back every few days as workshops are being uploaded daily. We have a number of providers offering workshops nationwide so please get in touch with us and we’ll do what we can to match you with one.
-
What if I can’t find a workshop I want to book?
We’re sorry to hear that. We are working on increasing the number of workshop providers and workshops every day. Please check back again as workshops are being uploaded daily.
Have you checked out our resources? You can download our free lesson plans for 4-18 year olds on various different mental health themes.
-
Will the workshops be recorded?
No, for safeguarding purposes these sessions are live and won’t be recorded anywhere unless explicitly agreed between you and the setting.

How do I sign up to offer a free workshop?
If you’d like to host a free online workshop suitable for 4-18 year olds for educational settings in your local area, you can sign up here. Thank you so much!
-
How can I upload my workshop details?
Upload your workshop information by going to Manage Workshops or clicking here.
Add your facilitator details (it can be yourself or someone else from your team). You can add more facilitators if you want to run more sessions.
Make sure your profile is up to date as this is where schools can find out more about you. You can edit your profile details here.
Each day has four sessions in hourly slots. Pick which day and time slots you can offer and complete the fields for your workshop (workshop title, age group, workshop description). When you are happy with it, change the status to live and click save.
One workshop = one school. This gives you the opportunity to establish direct relationships that you can build on going forward.

What can I do to prepare for my workshops and get the most out of my Now & Beyond experience?
Once a school books a workshop you’ll receive an email detailing next steps including that you need to ask the school to set up the meeting link (safeguarding reasons). Please introduce yourself and request a virtual meeting link, which they have to provide for safeguarding purposes, for the workshop to be delivered. You should also discuss with them any additional needs you may need to know about, how many students will be attending and the length of the session. You may also want to send them any materials/ presentations they may need ahead of time if you wish.
-
How does it work on the day of the workshop(s)?
Workshops will be delivered virtually through a meeting link that the educational settings will have set up and sent to you. If you haven’t received this yet please request it from the person who booked you. Log on via the meeting link at the right time on the right day and begin your workshop!
-
How long should my workshop(s) be?
We encourage you to speak with the school contact beforehand and discuss any needs you both may have, as well as the specific time of the session within the one hour time slot. Typically the workshops will be from 20 – 40 minutes depending on the setting’s timetable.
-
Will there be a moderator during the workshop?
Now & Beyond won’t be moderating the session but our team will be on hand throughout the day if you need support. A school staff member will be with you on the session so you won’t be on your own with the students.
-
Will there be an easy way to upload a powerpoint or PDF to show?
Yes you can send any materials to the setting beforehand so the school contact has access to it, and they can share it with their students.
-
Will the workshops be recorded?
No, for safeguarding purposes these sessions are live and won’t be recorded anywhere unless explicitly agreed between you and the setting.

A setting that isn’t very local to me has booked
Since one of the aims of the workshops is to create long lasting relationships that are sustainable/commutable between a provider and setting, you could get in touch with the setting to explain that you would rather work with a school closer to you. In this case, you can ask them to cancel their booking so you can wait for a setting more local to you to book.
Alternatively, you could proceed with the settings who have booked and hope that the sessions work so well virtually that long term relationships are still possible.
